SenseTime Chairman and CEO Dr. Xu Li Meets South Korean Prime Minister Kim Min-seok on AI Development

2026-06-25

SenseTime Chairman of the Board and CEO Dr. Xu Li, alongside a delegation of prominent Chinese tech leaders, met with South Korean Prime Minister Kim Min-seok in Beijing during the Prime Minister's official visit to China. Dr. Xu Li noted that South Korea is SenseTime's key global partner, expressing hope for deeper, mutually beneficial cooperation between the two sides on green AI infrastructure and trustworthy AI.

"South Korea brings strength in semiconductors, storage, and energy engineering. SenseTime brings AIDC operations, scheduling, and model platform expertise," he said. "By combining our strengths, we can deliver greener, more efficient AI infrastructure worldwide." "Cross-border AI collaborations do not have to start with building a model together — it can start with optimizing AI infrastructure efficiency together."

On trustworthy AI, he added that governance isn't about limiting innovation — it's the passport for AI to enter finance, public services, and global markets. China and South Korea, both highly digitalized with strong industrial bases, can pioneer a shared approach to identity verification, deepfake detection, content labeling, and high-impact AI evaluation — then bring that trust to markets worldwide. Since 2019, SenseTime has steadily built partnerships with over 50 Korean clients, spanning smart hardware, factory safety, banking eKYC, and consumer robotics, among other sectors.
